Photo inaccurate, but excellent silk

I know white, beige, and so on are difficult to photograph accurately. Thank goodness for swatches, though! I was hoping that "Pearl" would be less yellow than it is (I prefer slightly off-white, not quite ivory).
The silk itself looks lovely. It is shiny as satin should be. I've been on the hunt for dress fabric for my own 1908 gown reproduction. The original instructions ask for satin, but does not specify if it was Duchesse satin in particular. I'm not entirely sure that this fabric is even right for my project. It feels weighty--a good thickness for a gown. The fabric has a tendency to curl at the cut top and bottom ends (parallel to the weft, it seems). I may purchase a full yard to get a sense of the drape of this fabric, but in another tint of white.

This is the fabric I chose for the background for a very important embroidery piece. Its smooth and heavy and the perfect warm tone.
