LAMMASTIDE is a traditional festival celebrated in various regions of the British Isles, specifically on August 1st. It is also known as Lammas Day. The term derives from Old English “hlaf-mæsse,” meaning “loaf mass,” and reflects the agricultural traditions of the past and the importance of harvest time in the cycle of the year. It celebrates the fruits of labor and the start of the harvest season with communal and religious observances.
